I figured, no problem, I will uninstall and reinstall. I said no, and when I tried to configure GoBack, it was the same thing again. When Windows loaded, the same message was there: "Do you want to enable GoBack?" I said yes, and the same thing happened. It, of course, asked to be rebooted (Symantec seems to be the king of rebootss). The problem is GoBack asked to be re-enabled after rebooting. The problem: I had to disable GoBack to use PartionMagic to merge two partitions on my computer. ![]() Feel free to link me to some articles on the Symantec site, but I think I have already read each and every article pertaining to GoBack there. I'm not sure what to do with that.I did a search on this, and the question has been asked and answered a few times although the questions were slightly different. I'm going to read through that link you provided, but I gotta take a break from this for a bit.Īlso, apparently windows defender is supposed to enable automatically after removing any other antivirus software, but windows security still shows a blank screen and indicates I don't have any protection. Also, would these two items really be associated with the startup app for Norton download manager? They're both Nortonsecurity.exe. I've used Registry Editor to find two items for Norton security under program files, but I'm hesitant to mess with anything there because I don't want to screw anything up. I've checked both of those addresses you've provided and nothing Norton related appears, yet the FSDUI_Custom still appears in the startup apps settings and under the startup tab in task manager. I am genuinely shocked at how difficult it can be to remove one application.
